Daiya Cheesy Garlic Brussels Sprouts are the perfect indulgence for cheese lovers looking for dairy-free alternatives to their fave treats. I used Daiya Foods Mozzarella Style Shreds to create this delicious dish because who doesn’t love brussels sprouts topped with cheese?
Brussels sprouts are in season right now and a holiday staple. Chances are you’ve tried brussels sprouts with bacon or doused in a balsamic glaze. Have you had them “cheesy?” During this time of year, especially, I crave hearty meals that include tasty veggies. This dish will become a family favorite.
Daiya Cheesy Garlic Brussels Sprouts have the rich, creamy texture you associate with cheese but it’s healthier. The brussels sprouts will be crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and smothered in non-dairy cheese. It’s like a hug in bowl form!
As a foodie who loves to cook for others, I want to expand the diversity of my dishes to consider and include those with dietary restrictions. Daiya products help me do that.
The first time I tried Daiya Cheese, I had to double-check the packaging. The shreds melt nicely and stretch like real cheese! You’ll get the ooey-gooey factor of cheese without the side effects. Cooking with Daiya’s non-dairy “cheese” was fun but also a great way for me to test my culinary skills.

Preparation for Daiya Cheesy Garlic Brussels Sprouts
You’ll need to gather all of your ingredients. Grab Daiya Mozzarella Style Shreds, fresh brussels sprouts, vegetable oil, sundried tomatoes, vegetable broth, smoked paprika, garlic powder, minced garlic, shallots and kosher salt.
Make Daiya Cheesy Garlic Brussels Sprouts
First, preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Next add vegetable oil to a large oven-safe pan or skillet, and heat over medium heat. Then add halved Brussels sprouts, sundried tomatoes, vegetable broth, shallots, and garlic, seasoning with kosher salt, black pepper and paprika.
Sautee the brussels, stirring occasionally for about 5-8 minutes. This has become my preferred method for preparing brussels sprouts. When prepared properly at a high temperature, brussels sprouts have a caramelized flavor, and a tender texture that’s far from mushy.
Sprinkle Daiya Mozzarella Style Shreds all over the Brussels sprouts. Bake about 12 minutes, until the “cheese” is melted and bubbly. Finally, add sundried tomatoes for garnish.
Can I make this dish ahead of time?
Sautee your brussels sprouts and keep them in separate airtight containers for 3-4 days. When you’re ready to serve, add “cheese” and place it in the oven.
Can you suggest any modifications to this recipe?
The possibilities are truly endless with Daiya Cheesy Garlic Brussels Sprouts. One modification I’d consider for next time is topping with breadcrumbs for a tasty crunchy texture.
